"Phalanx Honor Society strives to select and recognize the strongest, most influential leaders on Rensselaer's campus. The Phalanx Tapping ceremony, as I was surrounded by my friends and family, was the proudest moment I have had as a campus leader, and was a culminating achievement of dedicated hours and attention to the Rensselaer student experience. Your support of the Phalanx Honor Society will ensure that deserving leaders can continue to be publicly recognized for their commitment to the alma mater and to their fellow students." — Samantha N. Why Support Us
Supporting the Phalanx Honor Society means sustaining continued growth and recognition of exceptional student leaders at Rensselaer.
A donation to the Phalanx Honor Society allows for the continued recognition and honoring of Rensselaer’s strongest student leaders on campus. However, contributing to the honor society goes farther than a monetary donation, as your donation has the power to encourage already strong student leaders to continue striving for greatness through leadership. Selection is an affirmation that these leaders are on the right path, and we can only recognize and honor these leaders with your support.
About the Organization
In 1912, Edward Dion and the Student Council organized a society to recognize those Rensselaer students who have distinguished themselves among their peers in the areas of leadership, service, and devotion to the alma mater. This society, Phalanx, became the fellowship of those most active in student activities. In addition, this society now selects the members of the White Key Society and Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, as well as the faculty winner of the David M. Darrin ’40 Counseling Award each spring. For more information, please visit the Phalanx website.
