Motorsport 2025 Campaign

Team Summary

Rensselaer Motorsport is a team of more than 30 students who work together beginning in July to build a single-seater electric formula-style race car, continuing a tradition of almost 30 years. We participate and are an active member in Formula SAE, the largest intercollegiate design competition in the world. Not only do we aim to design and build the fastest car every year, but we also put it to the test. We’ll be competing in two competitions this year. The first will be at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, against more than 30 other teams from around the world and the second will be at Michigan International Speedway against more than 90 teams. 

What You Support

Your support will go directly toward funding our participation in both of these competitions. At competition, our members present to professionals from the industry, connect with other members from different universities, and extract the maximum performance from the car. These experiences develop our members into well-rounded engineers by exposing them to situations and feedback they would not otherwise get from the classroom. By going to two competitions, we are giving ourselves more opportunities to fully display the performance of our car, and more importantly, allowing more members to attend and learn. 

Who We Are

To many members, Rensselaer Motorsport is more than a club that allows them to tinker with a race car. Building the car is a passion that requires dedication, perseverance, and ingenuity. Anyone who has worked on designing or manufacturing components for the car will tell you that the knowledge and hands-on experience they gain simply could not be taught in a classroom.  

In addition to the educational benefits, the team creates a close-knit group that takes pride in our work. Rensselaer Motorsport has been a part of the Rensselaer community since 1992, and is proud to have a very strong and supportive alumni network. With your help, we can continue to grow the team and make sure that this amazing opportunity is provided to students at Rensselaer for years to come.
