RPI Baseball is, and has been, a highly competitive baseball team in the Liberty League. We have won the Liberty League regular season or tournament in five of the last ten years with a NCAA Regional second place finish in 2015. Last year we finished 20-19 and 15-9 in league for a fourth place finish. We have been to eighteen NCAA Regionals and two World Series. In the classroom we have had a team GPA above 3.0 for the last five semesters and we could not be more proud of our baseball alumni base and families.
What We Are Raising Money For
We are again raising money for Rapsodo; however this year it will be for our hitters. Rapsodo measures exit velocity, spin rate, launch angle, spin direction, ball direction and gives a 3D trajectory of the ball out onto the field. It will record data from hitting off the tee, front toss, and BP or live game at bats. Our pitching Rapsodo has been incredibly helpful this fall in gathering data on our pitchers and being able to use the data to get them better. My hope is that we will be able to do this with the hitting Rapsodo so that we can continue to use technology to help coach our players to be better.
You have an opportunity to directly contribute to our team. Your tax-deductible gift will be allocated directly to baseball. Thank you for YOUR consideration in supporting student-athletes. With your help, we will continue to excel on and off the field.
Through the generosity of Eric Ren '94 and his wife, Bridget Milot Ren, any current student-athlete donation (up to 250 students) of $5 or more will be matched with $10 towards the team's goal. Also, the top 5 teams with the highest percentage of student-athlete and coaching staff donors will win an extra $500 toward their goal.
