“We want to improve the financial burden for Rensselaer students who are supporting themselves through their education. It is a great way to make a tangible impact on the classes that come after you. RPI’s academics are hard enough without having to worry about how and when you will pay for course materials.” - Talulah Patch '24, Class President
The Class of 2024 has established the Course Material Assistance Fund to alleviate the financial strain on Rensselaer students. The fund will channel donations towards aiding students in acquiring essential course materials such as textbooks, digital learning tools and reference books. This initiative addresses the challenging academic environment at RPI, ensuring that students in need can focus on their studies without the added burden of financial concerns related to course materials. The Senior Class Gift seeks to create a lasting impact on students' lives, enhancing accessibility to academic success and fostering a supportive community at Rensselaer.
Allowable disbursements include textbooks and reference materials, digital learning tools, mastering platforms, course-specific materials and other academic supplies. The fund will not provide materials or supplies that are outside the scope of necessary academic materials needed for student success.
For those interested in making more of an impact on their class gift, seniors who contribute $100 or more will become members of the prestigious Annual Patroon Society at Rensselaer.
Thank you to all of our senior class donors who have already made a gift to the Course Material Assistance Fund or another area of support. Class participation impacts our national rankings, increases the value of your degree, and, just as important, makes a difference for every student at RPI.
