The Mission
The club’s primary mission every year is to perform well in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics's (AIAA) annual Design, Build, Fly competition. We also strive to uphold RPI’s reputation as a university that produces top quality engineers by teaching our members how to approach engineering problems.
What You’re Supporting
A donation to this project supports our club’s ability to pay for travel expenses to go to competition, buy construction materials for our final plane, and replace electronics to allow our plane to perform at its peak potential.
We need to raise $2,000 in order to build our plane, purchase electronics, and go to competition.
We strive to educate all of our members in practical engineering experience, applying what they learn in their classes to a physical challenge in the hopes of creating better engineers for the future.
The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Design Build Fly Team is a student-run club founded at Rensselaer in 2006. Team members rely on their own engineering intellect and available resources to solve technical problems throughout their product development projects.
In its history, the team has graduated engineers prepared to tackle the most difficult problems in both industry and academia. Donating to Design Build Fly will ensure the team can continue to grow and produce leaders in the aerospace field. For more information, check out our website!
