"This fundraiser project is a part of the team's plan to establish a standardized, technically proficient rowing model among the team. The majority of our rowers are introduced to the sport via sweeping in an eight. Training in a single is a very good opportunity for our rowers to practice individual oarsmanship. This will also help them to be more conscious of actions in larger boats, and improve lineup coordination in the long run. The Aero is a well balanced platform to achieve efficient and meaningful practice sessions, in that it is a stable platform and an agile craft at the same time. I am sure the team will benefit significantly from the acquisition and use of these shells in practice." - Justin Xin, Crew President
RPI Crew is a student-run Rensselaer Union organization on campus. Our mission statement: To promote the sport of rowing through competition and good sportsmanship. The club shall seek to impress upon the membership the importance of teamwork, dedication, and discipline, as well as the positive social characteristics of rowing. We try to foster a fun and inclusive club that promotes teamwork and health through the sport.
What You're Supporting
A donation to our project supports our efforts to improve our water practices. Through sculling boats, we can achieve better inclusivity and allow for more variety in water practices. Supporting this project can help our team compete and promote a positive outward image of RPI.
We need to raise $7,000 in order to get practice sculls for our team.
Who We Are
Although the RPI Crew club is not affiliated with the NCAA, we strive to become more and more competitive, representing Rensselaer as we race other schools at regattas. Without the same facilities and equipment as other NCAA teams, the RPI Crew team is at a disadvantage. For more information, visit our website.
