SASE: Soaring to New Heights

“Our ongoing mission is to provide our members with the best experience possible, and part of that includes ensuring we have the resources necessary to do so. SASE Rensselaer stands to bring together the ideals of SASE and RPI, to not only train and strengthen the future leaders while keeping our rich Asian heritage, but also empower our members to pursue every opportunity possible to change the world. Your donation would mean a lot towards ensuring that our members get the opportunity to broaden their horizons and gain new experiences. Thank you for your consideration.” - Venkat Cherukupallli & Fiona Chen, SASE-RPI Co-presidents

The Mission

We are the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers based at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. SASE is dedicated to the advancement of Asian heritage scientists and engineers in education and employment so that they can achieve their full career potential. We are built upon three pillars: professionalism, diversity, and service. Every year, as we grow, we are always working to host new events that support these values, while also providing meaningful experiences for our members.

What You're Supporting

The SASE Northeast Regional conference is one of the biggest collegiate professional conferences in the region for Asian Americans. Well-established companies and agencies such as GE, Boston Scientific, and P&G will be attending to hold workshops and resume reviews to strengthen attending members’ skills and portfolios. The career fair also provides selective opportunities for attendees to network with companies and build their presence.

As a professional organization, we are always looking to present chances for members to advance their professional careers, such as through our resume critiques, company-led information sessions, and networking events. Regionals will reinforce these skills and serve as an opportunity for our members to gain knowledge that we may not be able to provide on our own.

Additionally, attending this event will also help us represent our school among other chapters and build more connections with companies, in hopes of gaining future sponsorships or partnerships. All donations through weRGold will directly offset the costs for students pursuing professional opportunities at RPI and the 2023 Regional Conference.

“A study from the Center for Work-Life Policy (CWLP) showed Asians are underrepresented by 250% in top executive roles among Fortune 500 companies, comprising 5% of the population, but only holding 2% of the executive roles.” - Tom Fernandez, SASE Co-founder

As a club and a community, we support each other by means of giving opportunities for our members to reach their full potential as future leaders. We hope that through our efforts and the help of benevolent individuals, we can better prepare ourselves for the career paths we are about to embark upon.

We need to raise $1,000 in order to provide for the travel of our members to the 2023 SASE Northeast collegiate conference.

Who We Are

Our organization, SASE, dates back to 2007. The RPI Chapter of SASE was founded in 2014. The organization is dedicated to the advancement of students of Asian heritage. We greatly emphasize career development during college in order to help them prepare for, and transition into, their aspiring career. The RPI chapter of SASE seeks to reflect the same values the organization is founded upon. For more information, check out our Facebook page or website!
