RM26: Our First Electric Vehicle

The Mission

Rensselaer Motorsport gives students a unique opportunity to apply concepts that they learn in the classroom to real world engineering problems. They are tasked with designing and manufacturing parts for each race car, and they must defend their designs to industry professionals at the Formula SAE competition. This prepares our team members for their professional careers and teaches them valuable skills that are not taught in the classroom.

What You're Supporting

Donations to Rensselaer Motorsport help fund purchases of raw materials for manufacturing, parts, and shop supplies that are necessary for completing our electric car. 

Each donation allows us to purchase more reliable parts, create a faster electric car, and send more students from RPI to the largest collegiate automotive competition in the world. With dozens of employers attending, this is a great opportunity to network, find employment, and see months of hard work come to life. 

We need to raise $10,000 in order to send students to competition with a competitive car.

Who We Are

To many members, Rensselaer Motorsport is more than a club that allows them to tinker with a race car. Building the car is a passion that requires dedication, perseverance, and ingenuity. Anyone who has worked on designing or manufacturing components for the car will tell you that the knowledge and hands-on experience they gain simply could not be taught in a classroom.  

In addition to the educational benefits, the team creates a close-knit group that takes pride in our work. Rensselaer Motorsport has been a part of the Rensselaer community since 1992, and is proud to have a very strong and supportive alumni network. With your help, we can continue to grow the team and make sure that this amazing opportunity is provided to students at Rensselaer for years to come.
