REV: Shell Eco-marathon 2023 Build

The Mission

Rensselaer Electric Vehicle looks to not only develop an efficient electric car, with the idea of moving towards a greener future, but to also help develop the skills of our members. Students in our club get hands-on experience while building their teamworking abilities.

What You're Supporting

The nature of our car entails a lot of experimental development. This means we often have unexpected costs come up, on top of our already projected costs for travel and fees. In addition, we purchased many of our supplies prior to the pandemic, which lead to them unexpectedly being unused for many years. As a result, they do not function as well and we are looking to buy replacements so that our car is both efficient and safe to drive for the Shell Eco-marathon. These replacements include items such as our pedal and motor.

Our focus is building an efficient and green electric car. We’re sparking interest in sustainability through our project. Additionally, by supporting this project you will not only be helping the development of our car, but also of our members. Any funding we receive will be used toward parts necessary for our vehicle and transportation to the Shell Eco-marathon next year. REV emphasizes hands-on experience and mentoring – having the goal of competition to work toward enables us to provide this environment for our members.

We need to raise $1,000 in order to obtain newer components to maximize our car performance and safety while competing in the Shell Eco-marathon.

Who We Are

Rensselaer Electric Vehicle allows our members to get hands-on engineering experience. Our members take ownership of real engineering tasks, such as designing and manufacturing both electronic and mechanical systems for an electric vehicle. By supporting Rensselaer Electric Vehicle, you allow Rensselaer students an opportunity to take a hands-on approach in a real engineering project. For more information, check out our website!
