Who We Are
The RPI Women’s Hockey team continues to build a winning tradition on the ice, in the classroom, and in the greater Rensselaer community. In the 2021-22 season, the team defeated Clarkson on the road for the first time since 2010, swept a pair of Hockey East opponents in Providence and Boston University, received votes for rankings in the national polls for the first time in over a decade, and swept Union in all three meetings, including a win to reclaim the Mayor’s Cup.
Amanda Rampado ’23 twice received ECAC goalie of the week honors, Audrey McCutcheon ’25 was named rookie of the week on two occasions, and Lauren Severson ’20, G’22 added a player of the week nod to the season highlights.
Off the ice, junior defenseman Hannah Price ’23 was named a finalist for the prestigious Hockey Humanitarian Award, which recognizes individuals from both men’s and women’s NCAA Hockey for their community engagement and outstanding citizenship.
What We Are Raising Money For
One of our program values is family, and there is no better opportunity to establish close relationships among the team and set the tone for the upcoming season than with an early season retreat. We are raising money for a team trip to Lake Placid in September 2022, where we intend to practice at the historic 1980 ‘Miracle’ rink and engage in team building activities.
This weekend trip will be a critical time to welcome and incorporate incoming freshmen, as well as to foster strong connections among our players that will directly impact our togetherness in the locker room and on the ice this season.
Your donation can directly support a tremendous experience for our student-athletes that will have both an immediate and long-term impact for our program. These unique and special experiences help form bonds that will not only benefit our players on the ice, but also serve as foundational moments in everlasting bonds.
