Women's Tennis 2022
Who We Are
Women’s Tennis at Rensselaer continues to grow, thanks in large part to the support we receive from our many wonderful alumnae and supporters. We are a team made up of 10 women and two coaches from all over the country. Our team strives to play a competitive schedule of matches, while working to build up young women to become capable leaders and contributors in society.
We are very proud of our accomplishments and hope to have continued success. Highlights from this year include:
- Alex Mednikova ’23 was awarded Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week four times and Liberty League Doubles Team of the Week three times with Rani Jones ’23.
- Alex and Rani are currently the #10 ranked ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Agency) in the Northeast. This is the highest ranking of an RPI Women's Doubles team in program history!
- Rani was awarded Liberty League Doubles Team of the Week twice.
- Alex is currently the #17 ranked singles player in the ITA Northeast Rankings.
- We just beat regionally ranked University of Rochester, for the first time since 2002, knocking off a regionally ranked doubles team in the process.
- Our team has gone toe-to-toe losing to nationally ranked teams (Wellesley 4-5 and Babson 3-6) this spring.
What We Are Raising Money For
We are on the cusp of a national ranking, for the first time in school history! Money raised for our program goes directly towards providing resources needed to compete at the national level (indoor court time, string, and gear).
We Need Your Help
You have an opportunity to directly contribute to our team, and your tax-deductible gift will be allocated directly to Women's Tennis. Thank you for your consideration in supporting student-athletes. With your help, we will continue to excel on and off the court.
