Who We Are and Our Mission
The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Design/Build/Fly Team is a student-run club founded at Rensselaer in 2006. DBF provides the opportunity for students to receive relevant hands-on experience that will benefit them as they enter their respective careers. These experiences range from testing methods to interdisciplinary teamwork, to industry tools and software. DBF also has an extensive network of alumni that current members can reach out to for advice.
The DBF team is dedicated to leveraging its place as the foremost aeronautical engineering team on campus to develop the engineering community and foster the growth of RPI as a leader in producing top engineering talent. DBF also strives to support outreach efforts by the MANE department and institute. This is done through volunteering at many events such as the MANE Alumni Open House, National Manufacturing Day, Aerospace Day, Medalist Open Houses, and Exploring Engineering Day.
What You're Supporting
Your gift to Rensselaer Design/Build/Fly (DBF) will enable us to continue our mission of developing R/C aircraft and apply the knowledge we learn in the classroom in a competitive interdisciplinary environment. Additionally, this year your support will allow us to improve our manufacturing and performance technical analysis capabilities, as well as ensure the team can continue to grow and produce leaders in the aerospace field. Moreover, your donations would help us organize our trip to Wichita, KS where we will represent RPI amongst national and international schools.
