REV: Shell Eco-Marathon 2020-2021

“REV is looking to come out of the current world situation better and stronger than before. We have added a new project working on autonomous vehicle control along with our efficiency project. On top of that, we have continued to grow and will hit the ground running once the pandemic is over.” – John Healey

The Mission

REV has an ongoing goal to provide resources and experiences to students interested in expanding their practical engineering skills. The Shell Eco-Marathon competition embodies this goal, providing an opportunity not only for REV to showcase the final product of the hard work of RPI students, but also to allow newer members of the team to experience competition. By making a gift, you will help these aspiring engineers gain valuable hands on experience on the track.

What You're Supporting

A donation supports the purchase of materials for our vehicle and the cost of having it assembled so the members of REV have the opportunity to participate in the Shell Eco-Marathon as a learning experience, as well as the opportunity for REV to make a name for Rensselaer in the world of alternative energy and engineering. Your support allows us to build a stronger team by giving our members new experiences, possibly leading to more success for REV in future competitions and for students in their professional careers.

Rensselaer Electric Vehicle places an importance on learning. We view this club as a place where students can learn hands-on, so we prefer to focus on designing cars from the ground-up so that members can be exposed to the entire engineering process rather than work on modifications to existing designs.

Who We Are

Rensselaer Electric Vehicle allows our members to get hands-on engineering experience. Our members take ownership of real engineering tasks such as designing and manufacturing both electronic and mechanical systems for an electric vehicle. By supporting Rensselaer Electric Vehicle, you allow Rensselaer students an opportunity to take a hands-on approach in a real engineering project.
