“I am excited to bring another exciting year to the SASE community here at Rensselaer. But in order to give the best opportunities to our community, we need your help. Help us by supporting our journey to our conferences, where your money will go toward launching a young professional's career.” - Wesley Chow’ 21, SASE President
We are the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers. We are a professional student organization comprised of members who are eager and excited about our professional careers after college. All donations through weR Gold will directly offset the costs for students to pursue professional opportunities at the SASE National Conference in Pittsburgh this upcoming October. With the full implementation of the ARCH, it is more vital than ever for students to maximize their semester away. As all of the attending members last year were offered internships, your donations will allow even more members this opportunity. We sincerely appreciate any form of support.
Supporting this project will greatly benefit members of our society. Our membership is predominantly comprised of Asian Americans. Any form of support will help this minority group succeed in our careers. Under today’s political climate, minorities and immigrants often face bias and bigoted rhetoric across most clerical industries. We hope that through our efforts and the help of benevolent individuals, we can better prepare ourselves for the career paths we are about to embark upon.
A gift of $20 may be the deal-breaker that allows a student to attend a conference that his/her parents find difficult to afford. We really believe that any donations to our project will make a difference. Nothing has persuaded us more than the smile and eyes of ambition every member has upon returning from the conference.
SASE Nationals is the largest conference and career fair held in the United States for Asian Americans. This event features over 3,000 attendees and recruiters from over 70 companies around the world. Many of the companies attending this conference provide on-the-spot employment opportunities, as well as more than 15 professional development workshops. Members will be able to learn many networking skills needed to further them in their professional careers. Attending this event will also help us represent our school among other chapters.
Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers dates back to 2007. The RPI Chapter of SASE was founded in 2014. The organization is dedicated to the advancement of students of Asian heritage. We greatly emphasize career development during college in order to help them prepare for and transition into their aspiring career. The RPI chapter of SASE seeks to reflect the same values the organization is founded upon. For more information, check out our Facebook page or website!
