“By having an EP, we are able to take a snapshot of our current group, our musical ability, and our talent. We want to share this snapshot with the Rensselaer community and beyond, and hopefully make a lasting impact with our music.” –Elise Kulka '22
We are a group of students who love to sing and perform, and want to be able to share the talents of our group with the Rensselaer community and beyond! We help to show our rich history at Rensselaer with the arts, and how that relationship is still going strong after so many years.
As a group, we showcase the artistic side of a school often considered to be focused solely on STEM pursuits. An album helps to preserve this moment in history at the school by showcasing the music our students loved during their college years.
Our group intends to put your gift toward recording, mixing, producing, and publishing a new album for the group. The tracks will be sold to concert goers, family members, alumni, and the greater Rensselaer community. The money made from sales will be used to fund future projects, like more songs for our audience to enjoy! We hope that by being able to create this album we will show off the talents of the students at this school and better enrich the performing arts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. It has been four years since our last CD, and we want every group of members to get a chance to experience the production process.
The Rensselyrics are a co-ed a cappella group that sings mainly contemporary music arranged by its members. The 'Lyrics are the oldest a cappella group at Rensselaer, having been born from the original RPI Glee Club (the oldest a cappella group in the country) in 1991. We now perform at many of Rensselaer's campus events and around the area, as well as hosting our own invitational each semester, to which other college groups are also invited to perform.
