Thank you for your generous gift towards the 2019 Bedford Traveling Seminar!
“Traveling with architects and engineers also taught me a significant amount about the different ways in which we all view the same thing." - Julia McNamara, BSCE ME '18
This international workshop sponsors the travel of six architecture students and six engineering students to locations where concentrations of best practices and projects can be found. The workshops include seminars in the offices of accomplished architecture and engineering practices, visits to acclaimed architectural projects, construction site visits led by the project’s architects and/or engineers, and a collaborative design exercise structured to catalyze interdisciplinary discourse. Recent workshops include Sydney/Melbourne (2012), Hamburg/Berlin (2011), and Shanghai/Shenzhen/Hong Kong (2010).
Funds raised during this urgent campaign will go directly toward funding six students from the School of Architecture, and six students from the School of Engineering to attend the 2019 Bedford Traveling Seminar this year to Sao Paulo, Rio de Janiero, and Brasilia.
Right now, we have a time-sensitive dollar for dollar matching gift opportunity, generously supported by Steven Bedford '75. All funds raised before and on RPi Day (March 14th) will be matched, up to $35,000! Help us continue to support the growth and discovery of our students made during the Bedford Traveling Seminar.
