Thank you so much for donating to our Project! Your donation and support is deeply appreciated. Please don’t hesitate to contact sase.rensselear@gmail.com or spencerqgao@gmail.com for an update on our progress! We would love to share photos and stories from the 2019 National Conference, which is expected to take place in October of 2019.
"At the end of the day, both of our attending members [at the National Conference] are offered co-op opportunities and potential recruitment upon graduation. This is such an amazing experience that we want to be financially capable of sending more students every year." – Dhruv Patel '20, SASE President
We are the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers. We are a professional student organization comprised of members who are eager and excited about our professional careers after college. All donations through weR Gold will be allocated toward covering the cost of attending the 2019 National Conference in Pittsburgh. Gifts will help cover transportation from Albany to Pittsburgh and overnight lodging in Pittsburgh for participating members. A donation of any amount will alleviate the financial burdens on both our chapter and our students. We sincerely appreciate any form of support.
Supporting this project will greatly benefit members of our society. Our membership is predominantly comprised of Asian Americans. Any form of support will help this minority group succeed in our careers. Under today’s political climate, minorities and immigrants often face bias and bigoted rhetoric across most clerical industries. We hope that through our efforts and the help of benevolent individuals, we can better prepare ourselves for the career paths we are about to embark.
Of course, our project is among many unique on-going projects here at RPI. However, we believe that donating to our project will make the greatest impact on our students. A simple $20 may be the deal-breaker that allows a student to attend a conference that his/her parents find difficult to afford. We really believe that our project will give the biggest bang for the buck. Nothing has persuaded us more than the smile and eyes of ambition every member has upon returning from the conference.
Our organization, SASE, dates back to 2007. The RPI Chapter of SASE was founded in 2014. The organization is dedicated to the advancement of students of Asian heritage. We greatly emphasize on career development during college in order to help them prepare for and transition into their aspiring career. The RPI chapter of SASE seeks to reflect the same values the organization is founded upon. For more information, check out our Facebook page or website!
