REV has an ongoing goal to provide resources and experiences to students interested in expanding their practical engineering skills. The Electrathon competition embodies this goal, providing an opportunity not only for REV to showcase the final product of the hard work of RPI students, but also will allow newer members of the team to experience competition. By giving a gift, you would help these aspiring engineers gain valuable hands-on experience on the track.
A donation supports all young members of REV that wish to attend Electrathon as a learning experience, as well as the opportunity for REV to make a name for Rensselaer in the world of alternative energy and engineering. Your support allows us to build a stronger team by giving our members new experiences, possibly leading to more success for REV in future competitions and for students in their professional careers.
Your support for REV would allow more members of the team to get involved in our competitions and an opportunity for the team to explore a new competition with a more local reach. In short, you are supporting our students! The point of any competition of this nature to encourage innovation among students, while also sharing these accomplishments with a community of spectators and other universities. The impact on the community (including our student members) is an educational experience that promotes awareness and excitement about electric cars, engineering for efficiency, and alternative energy as the future of transportation.
REV is a student organization that works to design, build, and compete electric vehicles. As a diverse group of mostly aspiring engineers, we strive to create the most efficient electric vehicles possible, while helping each other explore the world of engineering design and professionalism. For the past five years, REV has attended the Shell Eco Marathon, and this year we aim to expand our reach to new competitions, like Electrathon, and to hold an on-campus exposition.
